A video that captured the heroic rescue of a child by a teenage lifeguard at Seabright Beach over the weekend in Santa Cruz County has drawn presidential approval.

Scott Vander Dussen, who recorded the video, told KNTV that a 10-year-old boy was struggling in the water as waves repeatedly crashed over him.

A 16-year-old lifeguard sprang into action, rushing toward the boy and attempting to pull him back to shore.
